I Like My Jokes Like I Like My Chicken...

... clean, spontaneous, and dark.

Alright, so normally I stray away from passing along these silly Internet diversions (preferring, instead, to generate my own utterly ridiculous ways to waste time), but I'm bored so what the hell.

This is my output from the 3 Variable Funny Test. I am "Cutting Edge" (yes!) with a variable breakdown of:
Darkness: 91%
Spontaneity: 39%
Vulgar: 7%
Personally I think the vulgar quotient is way too low, but I'll accept it overall. It goes on to tell me:

"Your humor's mostly innocent and off-the-cuff, but somehow there's something slightly menacing about you. Part of your humor is making people a little uncomfortable, even if the things you say aren't themselves confrontational. You probably have a very dry delivery, or are seriously over-the-top.

Your type is the most likely to appreciate a good insult and/or broken bone and/or very very fat person dancing.

PEOPLE LIKE YOU: David Letterman - John Belushi"

Man, that is so right on. You know what I really love? Insulting very fat people with broken bones who are dancing. That shite is hilarious.

What's your humor style?

  1. Slow day at the office, ay?

So, I normally stay away from actively participating in such tests, but you're bored...and I've completely lost the will to finish unpacking (and this was mildly intriquing), this is me:

"The Wit. 57% dark. 38% spontaneous. 15% vulgar.

You like things edgy, subtle, and smart. I guess that means you're probably an intellectual, but don't take that to mean pretentious. You realize 'dumb' can be witty--after all isn't that the Simpsons' philosophy?--but rudeness for its own sake, 'gross-out' humor and most other things found in a fraternity leave you totally flat.

I guess you just have a more cerebral approach than most. You have the perfect mindset for a joke writer or staff writer.

Your sense of humor takes the most thought to appreciate, but it's also the best, in my opinion.

    You probably loved the Office."

And thus you now know more than you probably wanted to.

    Good day. And nice tiara

  2. I am Wit, too. I am thoroughly disappointed. I really thought that my love of a good shit joke and maniacal laugh would place me somewhere deeper into the vulgar category.

    Breakdown:
    57% dark, 38% spontaneous, 26% vulgar

I realize now that believing that I am really much more gross than I am only backs up the diagnosis, really. I guess that previously, I could not separate my father's body-fluids-and-gases-at-people humor from my own. But I only laughed on the inside while running as far away and as fast as I could. I should have laughed aloud.

...and I really do love the BBC version of The Office.

  3. I vote for "Shit" as the funniest substance, and I get 7% vulgar. What?

Well, it's always good to have random ways to check if you are really sharing your life/raising your children with the right person. I am also "clean/spontaneous/dark". 85 % dark, 39% spontaneity, 20% vulgarity. Whew! A relief. What if his humor had been "light". Grounds for divorce. Imagine a lifetime of him passing over the comics page and saying, "you really have to read Family Circus today"

  6. It suggests that I'm a wit too, slightly less dark and less spontaneous than, but just as vulgar as Traci. To be precise, 52% dark, 30% spontaneous, 15% vulgar. I do love "The Office".

Perhaps there's a theory to be proposed that says that cutting edge blogs attract witty commenters. So far, excluding immediate family members and persons living in the household of the poster, we're 3 for 3...

    Mmmm. Complex chicken.

  7. i'm the prankster. (clean, complex, light -- your humor has an intellectual, even conceptual slant to it. you're not pretentious, but you're not into what some would call 'low humor' either. you'll laugh at a good dirty joke, but you definitely prefer something clever to something moist. you probably like well-thought-out pranks and/or spoofs and it's highly likely you've tried one of these things yourself. in a lot of ways, yours is the most entertaining type of humor because it's smart without being mean-spirited ... 33% d, 38% s, 15% v)

there's one in every crowd, huh ...

  10. Is it surprising that I'm a 'ham'? Clean, spontaneous, and light? On the other hand, they compared me to Will Smith. I feel slightly insulted.

  11. Oh, plus, I took this guy's 'Would you have been a Nazi' test. I seem to have scored very very high.
