  4. Actually, my latest entry is fallacious. It's just a big old clump of grass.

    We each have different things that struck us about New Orleans when we first returned. Despite the widespread destruction, one of the little things that really stuck in my mind was that the grass on the dog levee was two feet tall. It's a place where we've spent a lot of time (and taken a lot of pictures), and it was such an explicit indication of neglect, of the breakdown of normal municipal functioning.

    Now the grass has been cut but there's huge, dry clumps of it everywhere. As you can see, one of them was put to good use as a hat.
