I feel less anonymous when nobody's there.

  4. Is it good or bad to feel less anonymous.

  5. Fame will come to those that feel less anonymous, especially if connected with Dr. Slim's blog. Fame however is double-edged as we all instinctually know from reading tabloids all our life. Let's talk about James Brown. Did anyone see the funeral at the Apollo? They closed the PO for Gerry Ford. They didn't do that for JB!

It's bad to feel less anonymous, the point being that you are missed!

Today I'm boycotting the PO in loving memory of JB. There ought to be a stamp...

  7. My friend has observed the curious pairings of deaths between presidents and R&B legends: Gerald Ford/James Brown, Ronald Reagan/Ray Charles. He's not exactly sure what it means, but he's sure it means something.

  8. Maybe it's that dead white Republican presidents are never as memorable as the two genius-giants of soul and funk. Probably two of the most influential and unique musicians of the 20th century. 50 years from now, someone will say put on some Ray Charles from the "Birth of Soul" cd set or play some early James Brown like "Out of Sight" or "Cold Sweat". What are they going to ask about Ronald or Gerald? That is, if they are remembered at all.
