And So It Begins

I reported for duty today, the start of our two-week before-the-school-year gearing-up. It was the first time we—the new team—had all come together in one place. They're a great group of people.* And hi-lar-ious. Good times.

* Though there are undeniable exceptions, teachers are, by and large, a damn fine slice of humanity. I'm happy to be in such excellent company.

  1. I've been reading with great interest about your new journey and applaud you for it. I teach preschool in the Tucson foothills, a total cakewalk compared to what you're taking on. Can't wait to read about what the kids are like, how the reality compares to your expectations, if teaching gives you the satisfaction you hope it will. And thank you. Thanks for taking a job that's notoriously underpaid but so incredibly important.

  4. Thank you all, I really appreciate the support. Just promise me you'll be this nice a month from now when I'm softly crying into my keyboard, stunned and confused, lamenting: "What was I thinking?!"
