Brussell sprouts. Fancy looking, huh? Like how I got that shallow depth of field in-focus-out-of-focus thing, just like the magazines? (Because at some point, food styling switched from the straight objectivity of those green beans to this subjective life-is-my-feast sort of imagery. When did that happen?)

    Excellent shot! It might have been a little earlier than the 90's. I would say the early 80's with Gourmet and Bon Appetit, now both print dead.

  3. Come to think of it, it began somewhat earlier than the early 80's. My-life-as-feast imagery began in the mid to late 70's. Julia Child, James Beard, Craig Claborne, Alice the Empress Waters et al.
