Ol' Virginie

'Twas briefly up in my mid-Atlantic homeland this weekend. These are things I saw:

Sheep and their guard donkey. (For real. Guard donkey.)

Whoah, sheep! Back off, lambykins.

Gangly gals on the farm.

Crabtree Falls warning sign. The only thing that could have made this sign creepier is if the number of fatalities was those little slidable/flippable numbers like they do for gas prices.

Flowing water + trees = pretty

Looking down from up top. Well from the lower up top. There was apparently way more falls and a much higher up top, but the gals weren't quite up for the three-and-change-miles roundtrip hike.

The gals and mama in mid-summer mountain mists. (Alliteration!)

    Very cute pictures!

  2. So pretty. I love the photo with your mom and the girls.

  3. Yo, I was at these falls a couple of weeks ago. They are really worried about people dying here. Maybe 30 warning signs? The prosy description at the base of the trail of the typical victim was the most chilling: "bright, athletic, in their twenties..."
